South Door

Above the south door porch is a fibreglass figure of our Lord pierced by shafts of light his hands outstretched towards the town in service of the people.

It is an invitation of welcome to all to enter.

The figure was designed by Mr. T Huxley-Jones in 1968.

The south door looks onto St Martin's Square, especially designed by architect Douglas Galloway, containing scented gardens,

all at wheelchair height and appreciated by those who are blind.

The fountains, arches and seats make for a  pleasant place of rest and relaxation in the town centre.
